WordPress 3.0 Is Now Available
I am blowing my vuvuzela too. Not for the world cup, but rather to give it up to the 200+ contributors who saw to it that wordpress 3.0 would see the day. My excitement is that today, June 17th 2010 the wordpress MU doesn’t exist “officially” anymore, though it lives on via regular wordpress thanks to the 3.0 release of the world’s best Open source software!
That’s the excitement actually. As of the new release, the wordpress Multi blogging functionalities are included with regular wordpress. There is a whole lot more about this major breakthrough as you can read from wordpress.org , I just wanted to share with you the exciting news!

My thumbnails don`t appear on my multisiteblog.
Maybe you know, what`s the matter…
What’s your site and will thumbnails are you talking about? I just checked your site and couldn’t find the obvious “thumbnails” you were refering to.
Hey Jan,
thanks for your help.
I had a problem with this site: http://blumenschenken.net/... but now the problem was resolved. I downloaded the newest version of the theme. That was the problem.
The thumbnails have to be selected with the new thumbnail-feature and not with “thumbnail” in custom fields any more.
I really like WP 3.0, I think, now we can use WordPress as a real cms.
I also like the new flexible menue bars.
Thanks.
I agree! For the last year and a half I haven’t touched any other CMS! With 3.0 there’s something much great and more power for WP and that’s the custom “post types”. I love it!
How will this affect WordPress users who are unable to upgrade?.I havent tested the built-in Automatical upgrade feature as it only upgrades to the latest officially realeased version and version 3.2 is still a Release Candidate. What are the dangers of not upgrading at this point?.The main danger is that webmasters who regularly upgrade their WordPress blogs will get used to not be able to upgrade their blogs.
